Transportadora de Energía de Centroamérica S.A., (Trecsa) is a Guatemalan company, a GEB subsidiary, that provides management, development, operation and maintenance services for energy transport infrastructure.
It is the first electricity transportation company in Central America to be certified under the ISO 9001:2015 standard. In addition, it is currently executing the Energy Transportation System Expansion Plan, PET-01-2009, the most important energy infrastructure project in Central America. Through its existing networks, it has developed important projects that strengthen Guatemala's National Interconnected System, such as the expansion of the La Vega II Substation.
Through these projects, Trecsa has 21 substations and 595 kilometers of transmission networks, making the company the largest 230kv network transporter and the largest MVA operator in the country, with 1120 MVA in operation and a reserve of 380 MVA.
