On June 4, 2008, Transportadora de Gas Internacional del Perú S. A. C., now Contugas S.A.C., was incorporated under Peruvian law.
The company is engaged in the distribution and commercialization of natural gas in the Ica region of Peru. It may also provide services such as design, planning, expansion, financing, construction, commercial operation and maintenance of natural gas transportation and distribution systems using pipelines, as well as hydrocarbons transportation systems in all forms. The duration of this concession is 30 years, until 2042. It currently has 294 kilometers of gas pipelines and more than 1,400 kilometers of distribution networks.
The company began commercial operations on April 30, 2014, after having completed construction of the Natural Gas Pipeline Distribution System in Ica.
